We had our temperament test, whatever that means... we think it was kind of silly, but did enjoy chasing a ball and running after an old shirt that Momma Julia was dragging around. She's kind of silly sometimes, but we love her!

Uh OH... (44 days old)...

We have the beginnings of little sharks! They are starting to chew on my toes with those sharp razor teeth. Now that is a fast way to get my attention! Orneriness is coming out. They mind pretty well when they are out and about, running amuck and I make the correction sound of "AKKK!" when they try to eat something they shouldn't. But they will go through their independent-stage soon, where they decide it is way more fun to ignore me.

Pups had more visitors yesterday! Sherri and Daryl brought Duke to stay while they are on vacation. They played with pups for a bit after we got Duke settled in.

I didn't get any photos, but Sherri got some cute ones of the pups that she will send to me.

6 Week Stack Photos...

It was at the end of the day and I could barely keep my eyes open, but I quickly got a stack photo of each. I did this by myself with a 5 sec timer on the camera. I have Dubby way over stretched... stretched too far upward in the front and show side rear way too far back. But this is what I got. A very busy week here with working on my Van, WORK work, kennel club meeting, etc. Have I mentioned I need a vacation? :)

6 Weeks Old...

6 Weeks Old today... boy the time sure went fast! They are so adorable and full of ornery puppiness! They do let me sleep all night now! Yea! Our morning begins around 6:50 a.m. when I hear them whining/crying softly. This means I have to get up NOW if I don't want to break the good start to potty training that I have going on. So I stumble down the stairs, hitting the railing a couple times, as I am so groggy and not functioning yet. Bed dogs get let out, and I run to puppy pen, open it up and CHARGE! we all run to the front door. They make it onto the front porch and the water works starts. I lift each one down the steps and tell them to potty down there... they potty some more and then run around and poop! GOOD PUPPIES. I make sure to praise, praise, praise when they go so they know they are doing a good thing and are super stars! "Good potty Brutus, Good poop Dubby, Good boy Tommy." I add the "name" for what they are doing. This always comes in handy later when you are traveling or at a show and need to them do one or the other as quickly as possible.

I will be taking 6 week stacks today. Busy, busy day for me... have alot to squeeze in between work. This is why time goes so fast. Too busy to even think, let alone be bored!

Here are some photos I took on Sunday when a friend of mine drove from KState with her boyfriend just to visit pups. Thanks for coming and helping socialize pups!

35 Days Old...

Puppies are started on potty training and have been going outside to potty for a couple days now. They holler to be let out of their xpen and we all RUN for the front door. At first they stopped just before the door and pottied. I then started picking them up fast and going out the door and into the yard with them. Now Brutus and Dubby run out the door! They don't always make it off the porch but we are making progress. I then pick them up and put them in the grass... they really like peeing in the grass... too funny. Tommy is a bit of a pill at this point. Sometimes he runs from me so I can't pick him up and get him outside in time. But it has been chilly out, especially in the middle of the night. I tell them "Go Potty" so they associate peeing with that command. And then I say "Go Poop!" It is always a good idea to have a dog understand their commands. If you are ever traveling it comes in very handy. When they do potty and poo outside I praise and praise.... "WOW what a good boy to go potty outside!" "What a big boy to go poop!" And I pet them. I really make a big deal out of it, so they know they are to potty outside. This is the start of potty training. They still go potty on the papers in their xpen, but there has been no poo. When they cry to go out, I try to oblidge as fast as I can wake up. It is so good that they really don't want to go in there.

Hearing test is scheduled for May 14 when they will be 7 weeks 1 day of age. Temperament test will be on 7 weeks exactly (49 days).
